Abstract

Persons as sexual subjects are socially and culturally constructed in a system established as esencialist and naturalist. In this sense, the feminist way of thinking revealed how our ways of thinking and feeling love and sexuality are profoundly mediated by a patriarchal culture. It thus began to question the basis of such an androcentric model, which upholds the Western sex-gender system. The objective of this essay is to analyze these changes and to question the so-called “women’s sexual revolution” through feminism. It also addresses whether this indeed resulted in an emancipating reality for women or if it was merely a fiction and another utopia of the State system hegemony to make women believe they have finally achieved emancipation and sexual freedom.
