Abstract

The high rate of infections due to the human papillomavirus grows day by day. This situation is at present one of the main areas of work for the medical institutions of this country. Not only is it a dangerous and deadly infection, but detection for timely treatment is reduced because in many instances the condition is not apparent. In view of this, prevention mechanisms have been created, like the vaccine against HPV, that aim at reducing risky contacts and the development of cervical cancer. These measures, however, exclude the highest at-risk group: poor women.
