Neurosis and sick body. In search of a listener for the suffering body.

Abstract

Research performed at the end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX contributed to develop new forms of viewing the person. At present, it’s not only considered an organic being, but a comprehensive individual, and concepts like the unconscious mind and emotion constitute very important elements for understanding it as a subject that lives, suffers, gets sick and decides to get sick to disguise its feelings of guilt. From the points of view of several therapeutics, we thoroughly analysed the subjects related to psychic phenomena, with neurosis as one of the central points for an explanation of human behavior and the afflictions undergone by the people who suffer from it.
