La muerte era significativa ya que simbolizaba el encuentro definitivo de la monja con Cristo. Al ser un suceso tan importante, existían instrucciones precisas sobre cómo hacer los rituales funerarios, desde la forma de tomar los santos óleos, qué se tenía que rezar ante el cuerpo fallecido o dónde se debía enterrar.</p><p>Estas indicaciones se obtuvieron de dos textos: La Primera Regla de Santa Clara y las Constituciones de Santa Coleta, donde encontraron una guía para “el buen morir”. Con el estudio de estos escritos y 7 biografías de monjas que habitaron el monasterio, el artículo analiza la forma en que las religiosas indias vivieron la muerte. </p><p><strong>Abstract: </strong></p><p>Corpus Christi convent, founded in 1724, it was the first convent dedicated to noble Indian in New Spain. The death was significant since it symbolized the definitive encounter of the nun with Christ. Being such an important event, there were precise instructions on how to perform funeral rituals, from the way of taking the holy oils, what to pray to the deceased body or where to bury. These indications were obtained from two texts: The First Rule of Santa Clara and the Constitutions of Santa Coleta, where they found a guide for "the good die". With the study of these writings and 7 biographies of nuns who inhabited the monastery, the article analyzes the way in which the Indian nuns lived the death.</p> ER -
