Boom and collapse of the Toltec provincial centers

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to study socio-political entities that were part of the Toltec state system, based on an analysis of peripheral units that formed part of the political dynamics in the Basin of Mexico during the early Postclassic. This paper will focus specifically on provincial centers, extensive settlements whose understanding will allow us to reconstruct the form of political and territorial organization in this region in Toltec times.
