Abstract

The High Sierra Madre del Sur in Guerrero is an area difficult to reach; therefore, this brief but productive archaeological inspection carried out in response to a looting report, offered the opportunity to make some of its vestiges known, particularly the remains of a site with architectural elements, ceramics, and lithics characteristic of the Mezcala culture. Especially interesting are two small stone sculptures, one of them still in progress, indicating the existence of a lapidary workshop.
