Abstract
One of the research tasks carried out by the National Institute of Anthropology and History is the study and delimitation of the Historic Monuments Zones. This process goes from surveying and registering civil and religious buildings to the declaratory of these Zones. This paper describes an investigation carried out in the State of Veracruz, specifically in the town of Coatepec, which was also declared as a Magic Town. It belongs to a region of Veracruz known as the Sugar and Coffee Route, which, in addition to having one of the most important sugar mills in the area, also has developed relevant tourism and coffee industries. After reviewing this paper, we can observe that studying the Zones is integrated with the cultural aspects of the community, but also with the innovative aspects in a sense that their conservation can be preserved for future generations.
