Abstract
For the last eighty years INAH has dedicated invaluable research to the preservation of historic buildings and monuments. The cultural heritage of buildings and their contents from the 16th to the 19th centuries is vast. Large structures have suffered earthquakes and all kind of changes and a varying efforts to stabilize and restore these buildings have not always maintained the true integrity of them. The atrium and the 19th-century grille of the of Jesús María church are some of the elements lost from the original property and the purpose of this essay is to document part of this architectural complex. Although we cannot physically recuperate the structures, we can recreate them with images and descriptions from those who appreciated their worth in the past.
