Abstract

In the historiography of the church of San Francisco Javier in Tepotzotlán, Father Pedro de Medina Picazo and his family were repeatedly mentioned as the benefactors who paid for the church construction in the final third of the seventeenth century; however, little is known of this Jesuit’s life. This article analyzes a document from the Historical Archive of the Mexican Province of the Society of Jesus that makes it possible to explore his life and work within the Society to contextualize his contributions.
