Abstract
The publication of the book Gramsci in Mexico sets a precedent in the study of intellectual and political history in our country and Latin America. Inevitably, its scrupulous reading broadens and complicates the debate on the understanding of Gramsci's thought in the light of changes in the global order but also of epistemes; in a temporal arc spanning the last 50 years. In this vein, the article gives an account of an intense and stimulating exercise of critical reflection focused on the concepts of passive revolution and hegemony.
