Abstract

This article tries to show Lacandona history through two authobiographic narratives, underlining the emotions, the hopes and the experiences of tne interviewees, and of the investigator as well. At the same time, it clears up that testimonial anthropology needs to choose from different kinds of information, including the silence and the forgetfulness of the informants, which are very important for any society's historical reconstruction.
