Abstract

This article is based on the life of Angélica, a transgender male who lives as a woman and joined a family after the gestation of a son by a biological woman who lives as a man, the idea being to rethink the categories of “trans gender identity” as a stable element and “gender roles” as scenic elements that change according to the role. Based on this approach, the paper communicates certain assumptions of the ‘queer’ theory proposed by Judith Butler, which considers neither the continuity nor the social relationships faced by the same person. Also analyzed in the text is the type of integrated family and the family institution as a trainer and breeder of the type of integrated family and institution as an influence on and reproducer of gender will also be analyzed in the text.
