La arqueología crítica ha demostrado ser una herramienta metodológica valiosa para analizar contextos arqueológicos del pasado reciente. Propone revalorar y reexaminar de manera crítica el trabajo arqueológico y objetivos de investigación. Con el propósito de ilustrar estas ideas, el presente ensayo retoma algunos argumentos centrales de uno de los más grandes expositores de la arqueología crítica, Mark P. Leone, cuya obra expone el potencial que ésta tiene para investigar contextos y temas intrínsecos en el capitalismo.
