Abstract
Since December 1915 Don Jesús Galindo y Villa, dean professor at the National Museum of Archaeology, History and Ethnology, argued the need to distinguish between education and training: the first attributed to the task of establishing the principles of human development, while the second would be devoted to formulating the precepts to be performed based on the purposes of education. He was referring to educational work as "simultaneous multiple education and attention, abstraction, vision, perception, aesthetic feeling, of ratiocination; in short, the powers in general, together with the parallel development of instruction. "Almost one hundred years of the speech and 75 from the foundation of INAH, worth to take a moment to think about the educational role of institutional museums. At first glance I find two problem areas: the multiplicity of meanings that we attach to the concept of "education" and, secondly, the absence of an educational policy to guide and articulate the activities dedicated to diverse audiences. This paper attempts to at least extend the framework of the two problems mentioned.
