Sin propiedad comunal pero apropiación del desarrollo económico. Istmo de Tehuantepec, México, siglos XVII-XIX
Abstract
This work undertakes a long-term analysis (spanning seventeenth to nineteenth centuries) of elements that historically determined socio-economic differences among ethnic groups (Zapotecs, Mixes, Huaves, Zoques, and Chontals) established in the region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Mexico. Emphasis is placed on the distinctions stemming from land ownership or its absence and the differential impact of nineteenth-century modernity among the diverse groups.
