Abstract
This qualitative study was conducted to analyze the description and assessments carried out by male and female sexual educators in Mérida,Yucatán concerning the role of formal educational processes in the construction and deconstruction of representations surrounding male sexual health.The technique used was in-depth interview. Eight sex educators—four men and four women—with jobs in public and private institutions, NGOs, and private offices were interviewed.The interviews focused on the following topics: their experience as recipients of formal sex education, the description of their work as sex educators, the way in which these educational processes impact male sexual health, and the challenges that sex education faces in the future.
