El legado olmeca: continuidad y cambio cultural en el sur de Veracruz
Resumen
Gran parte de la investigación arqueológica que se ha llevado a cabo en las tierras bajas del sur del Golfo de México se ha enfocado en los avances logrados por las sociedades del periodo Formativo. Salvo algunas excepciones, los desarrollos tempranos tan notables en esta región no se han articulado con los patrones locales sobre continuidades y cambios socioculturales durante los periodos subsecuentes del Clásico y el Posclásico. La investigación en el sector de Hueyapan de Ocampo, al sur del macizo volcánico de Los Tuxtlas y entre los antiguos asentamientos de Tres Zapotes y Laguna de Los Cerros provee nuevos datos para examinar el legado local de los olmeca-tenocelome y ayuda a formular una idea más clara de los problemas cronológicos del sistema de asentamientos y de la economía política que deberán refinarse en el futuro. La investigación que se presenta aquí constituye una base para comparar la organización económica y política de las tierras bajas del sur con otras regiones de Mesoamérica.Descargas
