Abstract

In 2011 fieldwork conducted in the pre-Hispanic city of Cantona, a carved slab was found as part of the north wall of a cist built inside a structure. Carmen Aguilera studied the meaning of the carved design. This paper deals with the spatial and temporal location of the slab and the studies carried out by experts in the Puebla-Tlaxcala Valley and the Eastern Basin that provide an overview of the environment surrounding Cantona for the period that we suggest the slab was used, which corresponds to the occupation of Cantona.
