On “The insertion of the new into the old” by Cesare Brandi in a Mexican monument

Resumen

Based on the case of the conversion of the Roman Pantheon in the church of Santa Maria ad Martyres, referred to in the essay “The insertion of the new into the old” by Cesare Brandi, this bief essay presents some elements linked to the conversion of the Basilica of Santa María de Guadalupe in Expiatory Temple to Christ the King, and the proposal of insertion of a Monumental Eucharistic Manifestator.
