En octubre de 2015 en la ciudad de México, investigadores provenientes de Brasil, Colombia, Ecuador y Francia, así como de universidades e instituciones mexicanas (Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia, Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes) se reunieron en un simposio internacional en el marco de la celebración del congreso de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Antropología, cuya temática fue "El arte-investigación y la antropología".
