Abstract
With the arise of modera anthropology and the invention of the ethnographic work, the photography reveáis a special importance: it is not only a mechanism ofregistry of cultural characteristics orobjects, but an independent glance. The answer given to the question about the nature ofthis glance, when facing the peculiar appearance ofthe cultural difference, is what has defined the reach ofanthropologicalanalysisand its relationship with photography.
