The work that we collect in this commemorative issue dealing with various aspects of the history of inah. An unavoidable question addressed here is education for museums and foundations for education policy. Similarly the issue of signaling, which realizes the historical, symbolic, scientific and aesthetic values-economic heritage in archaeological sites as an element that is part of the narrative of the museum and archeology is explored.

A matter little known is the documentation of the 201 international exhibitions organized by the INAH, particularly in the United States, Spain and Japan, which gives us an idea of international exhibitions mounted for the diffusion of our assets abroad, but also to reveal biases that reflect the state of international relations in Mexico, which in turn finds weak ties with Latin America in this matter.

A sort of tribute to the pioneering work of Paul Coremans and Manuel Castillo Negrete is the article where the first appointment, which highlights the work of inah, drew the attention of the world's experts, which was found the value of the institution in conservation during the 1960s.

The problem of documentation collections are also playing: its backwardness and lack of registration, in contrast with the knowledge that "exists in the minds of workers and disappears with them."

Another highlight case concerns the panorama and vicissitudes surrounding the recognition of African descent, and is mentioned in the National Museum of Anthropology own (MNA) has left the place already had this sector of the population.

Another contribution notes the limited recognition given to the photographic samples, unlike in the MNA also pictorial expressions, and alludes to the importance of the proposal to link the archaeological heritage and the ethnographic present; we can say that is the example set by the MNA and has been replicated in other parts of the country.

In summary, the articles in this issue point out several aspects that currently are not taken into account in museums: the presence of the black population, the importance of signs and bonds, as well as the lack of documentation and credit collections photo.
