Abstract
As an assessment and evaluation strategy that would allow to know the direct and indirect impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the activities of the conservation-restoration of the cultural heritage of Mexico in all its sectors, the Coordinación Nacional de Conservación del Patrimonio Cultural (CNCPC) of the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH) designed and applied a digital study between July 22nd and September 15th, 2020. A sample of 103 responses was obtained, with representation from 23 states of the country and from the institutional, private and civil society sectors. The results allowed to observe that the greatest impact reported has been the postponement and cancellation of scheduled activities and continuity projects, the budget cut and the interruption in the protection of heritage assets in several organizations. Likewise, the level of perceived risk is moderate, that is, it is expected to be able to resume work after substantial modifications to the work scheme of the organizations, companies, workshops and institutions surveyed. Finally, budgetary reallocation and redistribution, the creation of personal financial support and fiscal incentives, as well as support in the acquisition of personal protective equipment were detected as essential needs to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.
