Abstract

Imprimatura. Revista de Restauración was born as a project of students in conservation at the Escuela Nacional de Conservación, Restauración y Museografía “Manuel del Castillo Negrete” (ENCRyM). With different means of support, this independent journal managed to publish 16 issues, which gradually show the growth in this editorial project, during the 90’s. The journal came at a time when there were no specialized publications within the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH) on conservation of movable cultural heritage. It opened its pages to all types of heritage, and during the years it existed, it served to bring together the community of Mexican conservators, and to encourage important discussions on the discipline.
