About the Journal

The journal CR. Conservación y restauración was created in 2013 by the Coordinación Nacional de Conservación del Patrimonio Cultural (CNCPC-INAH), the National Agency in charge of cultural heritage conservation in Mexico, with the aim of disseminating information about conservation and research projects done by the CNCPC, other agencies of the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH- National Institute of Anthropology and History) and other institutions involved with cultural heritage conservation. This digital journal is published three times a year and consists of five sections: Projects and Activities, Memory, Conservation in daily life, a section to get to know INAH and News

In the section Projects and Activities, articles on cultural heritage conservation projects are presented, carried out by conservators, researchers or related professionals.

The Memory section highlights the specialized document collections of the CNCPC, uncovering conservation and research projects carried out in the past. It will also open the space to make visible other relevant document collections.

The section Conservation for daily life contains brief notes on recurrent questions of preventive conservation.

Get to Know INAH addresses the competences of the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia and the activities carried out by its different agencies.

The News section contains brief notes with journalistic style about the conservation and restoration projects that are being carried out by the specialists of the CNCPC or other INAH areas.

The journal receives original and unpublished contributions, which are not being postulated to other publications simultaneously.

All sections, except News, will be submitted to a process of opinion (double-blind peer review). The verdict can be: 1. Publish without changes, 2. Publish with minor changes, 3. Publish with unavoidable changes, and 4. Rejected.

Intellectual property of the collaborations belongs to the authors, but the rights of editing, reproduction, publication, communication and transmission will be assigned to the journal.
