La investigación en la práctica de los conservadores/restauradores del INAH: experiencias desde Yucatán
Keywords:
Research, Conservation, Communities, Cultural Heritage, YucatánAbstract
The Conservation and Restoration Section of Centro INAH Yucatán (SCyRYuc) attends magnificent iconographic representations of almost twenty archaeological sites that are exposed to a subtropical climate, in addition to the historical heritage of 106 municipalities, most of which are still in use by Maya communities. These characteristics have made of the study of the cultural heritage and conservation problems of the region a source of knowledge that is applied to the professional practice that is carried out daily. This text analyses the results of the exercise of combining in a single research project the actions and research topics of the SCyRYuc in order to reflect on what implies to do research from the conservation department ofthe states and the difficulties in its definition, execution and scope.
