Diálogos sobre la conservación del patrimonio cultural en tiempos de la COVID-19

This memoir is a synthesis of the reflections made during the five sessions of the online forum Dialogues on the conservation of cultural heritage in times of COVID-19, which was organized by the Dirección de Educación Social para la Conservación (DESC) of the Coordinación Nacional de Conservación del Patrimonio Cultural (CNCPC), held on June 17 to July 15, 2020. The article ahead includes the objectives of the event; the experiences expressed by the commentators and the public attending each of the five thematic tables, as well as the topics of interest that the community expressed in an evaluation form. Finally, it presents some of the reflections and follow-up proposals of the DESC and the Programa Nacional de Educación para la Conservación on the concerns, opportunities, and challenges that the CNCPC community faces regarding the updating, dissemination, and education for the conservation of the cultural heritage. The text is testimony to the needs and interests of the community regarding the COVID-19 pandemic; it aims to provide context and record on the impact of such an unprecedented situation.
