Abstract

Preserving cultural heritage of our country is one of the primary objectives of the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia INAH. SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic has caused a “new normality” in all worldwide. The required distancing broke the institutional way in which is usually carried out the supervision of conservation and restoration works of cultural heritage. To take care of its own responsibilities, INAH has innovated through the use of the new technologies and digital tools, adapting itself to meet its legal obligations and to generate care strategies. In supervision of projects generated by private conservators, the Coordinación Nacional de Conservación del Patrimonio Cultural (CNCPC) has implemented “remote supervision modality”, as a way to provide integral attention to them by using digital resources. This text narrates the first case which this modality was applied; this one consists in restoration works in wall paintings from the Museo Estatal de las Culturas Populares, in Monterrey, Nuevo León. In this work, we include its development and the obtained results.
