This issue presents a compilation of mythical stories resulting from dialogue with ritual specialists and members of various Yoreme or Mayo villages in southern Sonora. These are narratives obtained through interviews and subsequently transcribed and presented in vernacular Spanish. The reader will find a type of writing that is elaborated in an academic tone and another, by its own virtue, transcribed from popular speech. The main purpose of this compilation is to immerse the reader in a journey through the oral literature of the Mayos of Sonora, which continues to reproduce itself in daily and ceremonial life.
