Abstract

We might think that consciousness is inherent to life and is ultimately creative; however, the question inevitably arises: what happens to consciousness after life, in death? I found part of the answer on the basis of ideas from Chaos Theory and its echo in what was and is Mesoamerica, specifically in Preclassic and Classic Maya culture. This work proposes that consciousness is the basis of life and is creative par excellence, while it is also a point of unification connecting a living being to the “All” and to others. Furthermore, consciousness in the universe is constant, as energy, and therefore, it returns to its source or basis in a process of eternal creation.
