No 9 (2021): Texts written in Zapotec languages across time and space
Issue Description
In this issue of Rutas de Campo we present a compilation of analyses of Zapotec texts originating in the sessions of the Interinstitutional Seminar on Zapotec Languages, which brings together various experts in the analysis of these languages at different levels: morphological, phonological, typological and syntactic. Within this framework, it was proposed to bring together a series of works on texts narrated or written in Zapotec languages, both current and ancient, which constitute a sample of the diversity of languages in the four large regions -the central valleys and the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, the Sierra Norte and the Sierra Sur- into which this group of languages was initially classified. The diversity in the writing of the analyzed texts is derived from the nature, necessity and conditions in which each one arises and, in turn, shows the diversity of writing forms and literary genres appreciated in Zapotec culture.
