Abstract

The book that now occupies our interest, Juchari eratsikua, Cherán K’eri: retrospectiva histórica, territorio e identidad étnica, is one more fruit of the organization of the Cheranese people that shows the intrinsic relationship between memory and territory. The defense of Cheran has been possible because the people have given themselves the task of revitalizing their historical memory and, through it, of strengthening their relationship with the territory in which they live. Thus, the importance of this text lies not merely in its content, but in the process, the method of its elaboration and, of course, its objective.
