No 13 (2021): The cultural heritage of Colima: building our heritage

Issue Description

In this issue of Diario de Campo, cultural heritage is once again the focus of addressing various sociocultural and historical aspects that contributed to the formation of what we now recognize as the state of Colima. Five hundred years ago, the arrival of Europeans and the transformations of the society that is now called Mexico, as well as the flow of African slaves and groups of Filipino migrants – who came through the merchandise of the legendary Nao de China – built a daily life that diluted differences and founded the identity that distinguishes us today. Colima has undergone various transformations ranging from its territory, its political and social organization, to its linguistic and archaeological heritage. Thus, in this issue, various researchers from the different anthropological disciplines who have worked in the region share their reflections and research results in the Colima region.
